ABSENT

POR • Absent, "ausente" em portugês, é o nome deste curta-metragem mudo, como o "Reflected Drunk" postado anteriormente. Produzida na New York Film Academy, a proposta era produzir uma história contada apenas com imagem em música, sem falas. O filme é uma narrativa perturbadora que fala de amor, egoísmo e, quem sabe covardia, as possibilidades de interpretação são abertas. Como de costume, roteiro, direção e pós-produção meus, performances de Diego Medellin e Alina Smolyar. A trilha original, fundamental no trabalho, foi composta por Marco Duboc, nosso parceiro em diversos projetos. Curtam, discutam e compartilhem.

ENG • Absent is the name of this short movie, silent as was the "Reflected Drunk" posted previously. Produced in the New York Film Academy, the task was to create a story told by image and music only, without dialogues. The film is a disturbing narrative about love, selfishness and, maybe, cowardice, the interpretations possibilities are open. As usual, the script, direction and post production are mine. Performances from Alina Smolyar and Diego Medellin. The original soundtrack, essencial for the work, was composed by Marco Duboc, our partner in several projects.. Enjoy, discuss and share it.

REFLECTED DRUNK

POR • Em outubro passado tivemos o prazer de encarar o desafio de produzir em apenas 2:30 horas o curtinha, mudo, chamado Reflected Drunk. O filme foi produzido sob diversas condições singulares, além do tempo super escasso. Não sabíamos a locação exata, sabíamos apenas que seria no Set do Velho Oeste no Backlot da Universal Studios, que é enorme. Também não sabíamos quais seriam os atores destinados a produção, nem mesmo se seriam dois homens, duas mulheres, um homem e uma mulher. Tinhamos apenas o roteiro, que precisava ser flexível o suficiente para sofrer adaptações de última hora. Somado a isso tudo, existiam, pasmem, mais de 80, isso mesmo, OITENTA equipes gravando 80 filmes diferentes naquele dia no Backlot da Universal. No final deu tudo certo e o filme está aí, com roteiro, direção e pós produção minhas, com trilha sonora original do Marco Duboc e a atuação de Darrell Bailey e Diego Medellin, que, por sinal, é sobrinho do ator que interpretava o famoso Seu Madruga, do seriado do Chaves.  Curtam, comentem e compartilhem.

ENG • During last October we had the pleasure of taking the challenge of producing in just 2:30h the shorty, silent, called Reflected Drunk. The film was produced under very singular conditions, besides the lack of time. We didn't know the exact location, we only knew that it would be in the Old West set in the Universal Studios Backlot, which is huge. We also didn't know who would be the actors assigned for our production, not even if they would be two men, two women or a woman and a man. We only had the script, that needed to be flexible enough to allow last minute changes. As if it was not enough, there were more than 80, yes you read that, EIGHTY different crews shooting more than 80 different films on the Backlot that day. In the end everything was all right  and the film, with my script, direction and post production, with original soundtrack by Marco Duboc and performances by Darrel Bailey and Diego Medellin, which is, by the way, nephew of the actor that used to interpret the famous "Seu Madruga" from the series "Chaves".
