NYFA AND WARNER BROS

PORT • Hoje tivemos uma tarde de orientação da NYFA dentro da estrutura da Warner Bros., na sala de projeção do Estúdio 12. O caminho até lá já foi interessante, deixamos o carro no estacionamento do portão 3, atravessamos a rua e entramos pelo portão 2. Dali seguimos cruzando por entre alguns dos imensos estúdios, passando por uma praça frequentada pelos que lá trabalham e um café até chegarmos ao tal Estúdio 12. Lá fomos contemplados, por três horas, com pequenas palestras de 5 diferentes figuras da NYFA, entre coordenadores educacionais, coordenadores disciplinares, especialistas em álcool e drogas, coordenadores de equipamentos e o próprio coordenador geral, uma espécie de reitor.

Impressionante o nível de profissionalismo e a preocupação com o bem estar dos alunos tanto no aspecto pedagógico, quanto em todos e qualquer aspectos que possam influenciar o aproveitamento do curso e o rendimento dos alunos. Eles estão preocupados com as relações aluno x aluno, aluno x instrutores, alunos x familiares. Possuem um grupo de psicólogos e orientadores aptos a ajudar nos problemas internos e externos à escola. Têm também um departamento para ajudar os alunos com acomodações, assuntos legais, esportes entre outros. Eles se preocupam se você vai levar uma multa por estacionamento irregular, se vai se perder pela cidade ou se vai se cuidar para não cair no golpe do boa noite Cinderela. Resumindo, são como um time de pais e mães, severos e exigentes, mas ao mesmo tempo acolhedores e atenciosos. São tantos alertas no estilo “mãe preocupada” que quase fiquei preocupado. Não sei se isso acontece em todas as instituições por aqui, mas volto a dizer, fiquei impressionado com o profissionalismo e a amplitude da atuação, positiva, da NYFA na vida de seus alunos. Nunca vi ou ouvi nada igual no Brasil.

ENG • Today we had an NYFA orientation afternoon inside Warner Bros structure, at the Studio 12 screening room. The path to there was already interesting, we left the car at the parking lot on Gate 3, then crossed the street and went in Gate 2. From there we walked in between some of the huge studios, passed by a square and a cafe frequented by the people that work there until we go to to the so called Studio 12. There we were given small sessions, for 3 hours, with 5 different NYFA figures, among coordinators of several areas.

The professionalism and the worry about the students wellness is impressive, not only in the pedagogic aspect but also in all other aspect that can influence the education and performance of students. They are worried with the relations student x students, students x instructors, students x family members. There is a group of psychologists and instructors capable of helping with the problems inside and outside the school. There are also a department to help students with accommodations, legal matters, sports, among others. They care if you are going to get a parking fine, getr lost in the city or get fooled by the rape drug. Summing up, they are like a team of mothers and fathers, severe and demanding, but welcoming and attentive at the same time. There are so many alerts in the “worried mother” style that we almost got worried. I don't know if this is usual in all institutions around here, but I'll say again, I was impressed with the professionalism and wideness of the (positive) influence of NYFA on its students life. I had never seen something like that in Brazil.
